Server rules

Hazeron is a sandbox: war, piracy, espionage and ruthless trading are all part of the game. These rules are about how you treat people, not empires.

  1. Respect other players. No harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeting someone's real-life identity. In-character rivalry is fine. Going after the person behind it is not.
  2. No cheating. No hacked or modified clients that give an advantage, no bots or automation, and no deliberate use of bugs or exploits. If you find one, report it. Don't farm it.
  3. Don't attack the servers. No flooding, crash attempts, or trying to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours.
  4. Keep names and designs decent. Avatar, empire, city and ship names and designs must not be hateful or sexually explicit.
  5. One person, one account. Don't share accounts, and don't use extra accounts to gang up on others or to cheat the economy.
  6. Keep chat in English in public channels so everyone, including the admins, can follow along.

Breaking the rules can mean a warning, renaming or removing offending content, or suspending or deleting the account, depending on how serious it is. Admin decisions on this server are final.

New server, early days. Gates of Hazeron is new and run by volunteers. Bugs, rollbacks or, in extreme cases, a universe reset may happen. Big changes will always be announced on the News page first.

Privacy

What we store

  • Your account: the account name, the e-mail address you register with, and your password. The password is stored as a one-way hash, not as plain text.
  • Game data: your avatar, empire, cities, ships, designs, in-game mail and chat. This is the game itself.
  • Connection data: IP addresses and connection times in server logs, used for security and to fix problems.

What we use it for

Only to run the game: logging you in, keeping your universe, protecting the servers, and contacting you about your account if we ever need to. We don't sell or share your data, send marketing e-mails, or show ads.

This website

This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers. Fonts load from Google Fonts. Downloads and donations go through itch.io and GitHub, which have their own privacy policies.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete your account and its personal data, or to tell you what we hold about you. E-mail from the address you registered with. Ask an admin in game or on Discord. Game content you created, such as published blueprints, may stay in the universe without your name attached.

Age

The game is rated Mature (17+). It is not meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 17.
